Sharmaine Dobson is a dynamic leader born in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, with a rich background in ministry, theology, and mental health. She holds an honorary Doctor of Divinity for her dedication to ministry, along with a master’s degree in Christian counselling, a bachelor’s degree in theology, and a diploma in social work.

In Christchurch, New Zealand, Sharmaine serves as a clinical supervisor, blending her theological insights with mental health expertise. She is also an accomplished author, poet, and lyricist, having published five books and written the well-known song “Let the Rain Fall.”

She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1964 and then began teaching Latin and English near the Houston area. In 1999, Sandra joyously added Bible History and Literature, an elective fully accredited by the state and offered to grades 9-12. With a desire to see more people develop an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, Sandra later wrote a book, copyrighted in 2004, entitled The Best Seat in the House and subsequently published the School of Character, a curriculum for changing young people’s lives. He spent 34 years with Exxon during which time he worked in the US, North Africa, South America, Australia, and Southeast Asia.
