Dr. George Dobson, born in Zambia and raised in Zimbabwe-Rhodesia and Sasolburg, South Africa, developed a deep appreciation for diverse cultures during his formative years. These experiences shaped him into a compassionate leader with a lifelong commitment to ministry and theology.
For 41 years, George was supported by his loving wife, Sharmaine. Together, they built a family with two children and four grandchildren, who brought them immense joy and pride.
George’s dedication to education was unwavering. He earned an honorary Doctor of Divinity, a master’s degree in Leadership, a bachelor’s degree in theology, and a diploma in social work. These qualifications highlighted his holistic approach to meeting the diverse needs of his community, blending spiritual guidance with practical support.
As a church planter, George was instrumental in spreading messages of love, faith, and hope. He established numerous Bible colleges across Australasia, making knowledge and wisdom accessible to all who sought them.
In Christchurch, New Zealand, George founded Abundant Life Ministries International, where he served as co-senior minister and pastor. He also worked as a clinical manager, leading a team of mental health therapists. His approach, integrating spiritual guidance with mental health support, demonstrated his profound understanding of the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit.
George’s influence extended globally through his affiliation with the Ministers Co-op in Australia, fostering connections and collaborations that strengthened the global ministry network.
